Double Dildos
Double dildos come in two quite different styles, and choosing one starts with how it is designed to be used.
Long, flexible double ended dildos are generally designed to be shared between two bodies, with an insertable end at either end and enough length and flexibility to make positioning comfortable.
Harnessless or strapless dildos work differently. One end is held internally by the person wearing the toy, while the other can be used for penetration. They can be worn without a harness, or paired with a compatible harness for extra stability and control.
Some designs add vibration or app control, but shape, fit and flexibility are what really determine how these toys work.
At Passionfruit, we choose double dildos for thoughtful shapes, quality materials and designs that make sense for the bodies using them.
Two ends. Quite a few possibilities.
Choosing a Double Dildo
Double dildos aren't all designed to work in the same way. Some are long, flexible toys intended for simultaneous use between two people, while others are harnessless designs that allow one person to hold the toy internally while the other end is used for penetration.
Understanding that difference makes choosing considerably easier.
Double Ended Dildos for Sharing
Traditional double ended dildos usually have an insertable section at both ends, connected by a longer flexible shaft.
Flexibility is particularly important with this style because it allows the toy to bend and accommodate different bodies and positions without requiring both people to move in exactly the same way.
The two ends may be identical or offer different widths, shapes or textures.
Harnessless and Strapless Dildos
Harnessless dildos, sometimes called strapless strap ons, use a shorter internal end designed to help the wearer hold the toy in position, with a longer end extending outwards.
Despite the name, a harnessless dildo doesn't have to be used without a harness. Many can also be paired with a compatible harness, particularly one without a backing pad, for greater stability and control.
Fit matters with this style. Pelvic anatomy, muscle tone, position and the shape of the internal end can all affect how securely a harnessless dildo stays in place, so a harness can be a very useful addition rather than a sign that the toy isn't working as intended.
Using a Harnessless Dildo for Pegging
Harnessless dildos can be an option for pegging as well as other kinds of partnered play. Some people enjoy the internal sensation created by the wearable end, while others simply like having an alternative to a traditional dildo and harness setup.
For greater stability, adding a compatible harness can reduce the amount of muscular effort required to keep the toy positioned and provide more control.
Size, Shape and Flexibility
For long double ended dildos, overall flexibility and the insertable size of each end are generally more useful measurements than total length alone.
For harnessless designs, consider both ends separately. The internal end needs to feel comfortable for the wearer, while the external end should suit its intended use.
Firmer designs provide more structure and control, while softer silicone bends and moves more readily with the body.
Vibrating and App Controlled Double Dildos
Some double dildos add vibration or app control, which can introduce additional sensation or make controls easier to access during partnered play.
As always, more technology doesn't automatically make a better toy. Shape, fit and how comfortably the toy works with the bodies involved still come first.
Finding the Right Double Dildo
The easiest place to start is with one question: is the aim to share a long double ended toy, or to wear one end and use the other?
From there, size, firmness, flexibility, vibration and harness compatibility become much easier to compare.
Two ends. Very different engineering.
