It’s been an interesting few weeks in the lingerie world with small brands like our own ‘Hopeless Lingerie’ calling out the big brands for blatantly stealing their designs.
The good news is that social media fans of Hopeless and other independent designers (such as La Fille d’O whose innovative ‘Fast Girls’ Bra has been recently copycatted by H&M) have created enough of an uproar to cow the behemoths. They've now removed the offending items from sale. (Read more here)
As much as we detest fast fashion’s dubious ethics over a number of issues - underpaid workers, plagiarism, environmentally unsound business practises, poor working conditions - we’re loving the grass roots support that the independent creatives are receiving.
Support those brands that create original work, are sustainable and ethical and shop conscientiously.
