This month's PASSIONFRUIT CRUSH is MISS NICOLE, otherwise known as Fräulein Kink.
Did you always have a love for designing fetish wear or did it evolve?
Ever since I was a little girl, I loved costumes and playing dress up! My idols as a kid were Wonder Woman, Cat Woman, and Elvira ;) I am sure today you can see these influences in my brand.
You live in Berlin. What inspires your collections?
I am inspired in many different ways! All things sex & fashion. I believe strongly that the two go hand and hand. Sometimes its the materials, or textures. Other times its images or moods. Traveling is also a great way to be inspired.
Your Original Sin Collection is a masterpiece. How did you feel about putting it out there?
Awh thanks for the kind words! This collection was actually on my mind for many years, but the timing wasn't quite right to work on it. Since we have a very strong team at Kink, and it was definitely time to experiment! I was a bit nervous about releasing it, since it can be taboo to mix sex and religion. Happy to report, the feedback has been super positive :)
How do you balance creativity and business?
Great question! Of course it would be super fun to make crazy elaborate items, but in the end it's a business and the items need to sell. We always need to remember when designing, what are your target clients wishes and needs.
