This one’s for the folks who perhaps haven’t experienced an internal orgasm before and are seeking the specific pleasures that come from a cervical orgasm. So, what are they and how might we experience them? Pleasuring yourself or a partner, settle in for a sumptuous read on the elusive cervix climax by Passionfruit educator Finula Greene.
Orgasms and the female body
When it comes to orgasms and the female body, our scope can seem quite narrow. But, you’d be delighted to know that the female body can produce many different orgasms, conjured through different techniques and types of stimulation.
Of course, thanks to pornography and media depictions, many of us immediately think of vaginal/internal/G-spot orgasms.
While these are still achieved through connection with the clitoris, just through internal stimulation rather than external, it seems that only a loud minority of female bodied folks achieve them. Which is nothing to be fussed about if you count yourselves among the majority of people who don’t have them, just another reminder that even our internal anatomies can all differ vastly in their setup.
You may have to shift your focus to the clitoral orgasm, which is commonly achieved through external stimulation. However, an orgasm that we can all achieve, that isn’t through the clitoris, is cervical orgasms.
What is a cervical orgasm and how do we have one?
A cervical orgasm can be achieved through deep penetration that stimulates the opening of the cervix which is located at the top of the vaginal canal. Let me preface by saying that, although we can all technically achieve cervical orgasms, it does not mean that we should if doing so is painful!
The cervix is usually quite sensitive, which can sometimes be felt as pain. The other thing to note is that it is achieved through deep penetration, which not all people find to be enjoyable. If you find that deep penetration is usually uncomfortable or painful for you, then these may not be something worth working towards for you and your pleasure routine.

With that being said, it is of utmost importance that you are very relaxed if embarking on an attempt at achieving a cervical orgasm. Similar to the vagina, the cervix is also a muscle, so if you are tense or not at ease, then the cervix will most likely be less than happy to be touched. It may also make the depth of the penetration uncomfortable.
If you endeavour to explore cervical stimulation and illicit the cervical orgasm, then make sure you listen to your body and what it is telling you. If it becomes painful or uncomfortable, I would suggest checking in with your level of relaxation, if that doesn’t help then you may need to try another time. Another important note is that our cervix placement and sensitivity often changes throughout our cycle.
It’s not uncommon that what is pleasurable, becomes a bit painful at varying times. Nothing to worry about, just a sign that that activity must be saved for a later date.
Ways to stimulate the C-Spot.
Now onto the gory details: tips and tricks for stimulating that C-spot! While there are many different ways to stimulate the cervix, some might be preferable to others. I am first going to walk us through some techniques that can be achieved with a partner – don’t worry, a partner is not the only way to have a cervical orgasm, I will go over solo play too!
Partnered play: Now, if you opt for getting pounded deep and hard by your lover as a means of climaxing cervically, by all means do it, you may just have to make peace with having a bruised cervix over the next few days. That kind of feeling will differ from person to person. While I know what I am in for – and after a whole lot of pleasure can make peace with that pain – you may hate nothing more than the sensation of walking around with an internal bruise. Less intense means of getting there absolutely exist, so no need to fret!
Because your partner can’t really feel the complexities of your inner sensations, it can benefit you to be in control of the situation. Being on top, and grinding your way during deep penetration, can generate a wildly intense orgasm that you are completely in control of – and likely not be bruised by the next day! No matter what position you choose to pursue, with the depth of the penetration, make sure that you are always checking in with your partner and communicate when you feel discomfort and need to adjust or take a moment.
Riding solo: Now for solo exploration or stimulation using a toy, partner optional. If you want vibration, and personally like the feeling of internal vibration then by all means get a penetrable toy with a motor. However, the pursuit of cervical orgasms does not require vibration, it’s really just an add-on for those with a personal preference for vibration. Using depth and pressure is the best way to explore cervical stimulation. So, no, you don’t really require fast thrusting or vigorous movement to get there. Opt for more slow, controlled pressure and depth through intentional stimulation, instead.

Our top 3 toys for cervical orgasms
One toy that is truly brilliant for cervical orgasms is the Njoy Pure Wand. This heavy, stainless steel beauty is truly a master for stimulation using pressure. Being completely made of stainless steel and shaped in a hoop curve with two different sized ends, the weight and shape of the toy allows you to apply a lot of pressure to both the G-spot and the cervix.
Now, the Pure Wand is not a thrusting toy. The curve and hardness of it do not really make for an enjoyable thrusting experience, but using it to apply pressure by massaging the ball end of the toy into the cervix is a slow and steady way to explore cervical stimulation. Let me stress that, if you have a partner using this toy on you, make sure that you are going very slow and communicating. Your partner cannot feel where the toy is hitting and it is very hard and heavy by design.
Another option, which also allows for hands-free exploration is a suction-based dildo. Selecting a longer dildo with a suction cup base, and utilising that dildo on something that it can grip to (such as the shower floor) can help you get there. Then, if mobility allows, grinding into the toy while it is deeply inserted.
Now, if you wish for vibration, the Fun Factory Tiger would be my recommendation, as it’s flexible and long with a handle that will help you greatly with both reaching higher and also massaging into the area.
A final note on cervical orgasms
Before I leave you dear reader, I would encourage you to remember that cervical orgasms are not for everyone.
Remember, you are working with a particularly sensitive part of the body that can be quite adverse to being touched or stimulated. There is no point in pursuing an activity if your body is responding negatively to it time and time again. After all, there are many other ways for you to pursue pleasure, so listen to your body.
If you are using a toy, please go very slowly, especially if a partner is involved.
Finally, consider different avenues of stimulation. Some people will respond best to thrusting and a lot of movement, others will respond better to slow and deep massaging into the area. Just remember to let your body guide you, listen to it, just because someone may recommend one way that they like to stimulate the cervix, doesn’t mean that it will be the same for you and your body.
